How Users Consent to SMS
Grassr is a platform used by local lawn-care and field-service businesses to run their operations. Text messages are sent in two directions, and consent is collected for each:
- Account verification (OTP) — When a crew member enters their phone number and taps “Send Code” to sign up or log in, they consent to receive a one-time verification code.
- Crew invitations — When a business owner adds a crew member by entering their phone number, Grassr sends that person a single invitation to join the owner’s team. The owner confirms they have a working relationship with the invitee; the message is one-time and transactional, and includes opt-out instructions.
- Billing & customer notifications — A business’s customers provide their phone number to the business and agree to receive billing and service texts as part of arranging service. Businesses that use Grassr are required to obtain this consent before messaging their customers.
We never purchase phone numbers or send messages to purchased lists. Every message is tied to an existing account, service, or working relationship.
Phone Verification Consent
When crew members sign up or log in, they enter their phone number and tap “Send Code” to receive a verification SMS. By requesting the code, they consent to receive that SMS message.
By tapping “Send Code” you agree to receive a one-time SMS verification code. Message and data rates may apply.

Types of SMS Messages
Users may receive the following types of SMS messages, all transactional:
- Verification codes — One-time passcodes to verify a phone number during sign-up or login
- Billing notifications — Invoice and payment-receipt messages sent to a business’s customers
- Customer notifications — Service reminders and “on-the-way” alerts sent to a business’s customers
- Crew invitations — A one-time invitation sent when a business owner adds a crew member by phone number
We do not send marketing or promotional SMS messages. All messages are transactional or security-related.
Opting Out
Users can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any SMS message (reply HELP for help)
- Removing their phone number from their profile
- Contacting us at support@grassr.io
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies by account and service activity. Verification codes are sent only when requested. Billing and customer notifications are sent as invoices, receipts, and service updates occur. Crew invitations are one-time. We do not send recurring marketing or promotional texts.
Privacy & Data Sharing
Mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Messages are delivered through our messaging provider (SignalWire) solely to send them on our behalf.
